Recruitment

Process of recruit.

When a company needs to recruit or employ new people, it may decide to advertise the job or position in the appointments section of a newspaper. People who are interested can then apply for the job by sending in a letter of application or covering letter (US cover letter) and a curriculum vitae or CV (US resume) containing details of their education and experience. A company may also ask candidates to complete a standard application form. The company's Human Resources department will then select the most suitable applications and prepare a short list of candidates or applicants, who are invited to attend an interview. Another way for a company to hire is by using the services of a recruitment agency (US search firm) who will provide them with a list of suitable candidates.

Many growing companies think that traditional job interview is bad for recruit people, because it didn’t say about features of manager. Instead, they are requiring applicants make some tests, exercises of decision making, etc. Years ago every person can learn answers on questions which giving to him on interview. Company paing big for training people, who get this work by this way. Traditional job interview not giving guarantie, because people chose people who they like.

Different methods used to recruit people.

Candidates may be asked to:

  • tell a joke

  • take part in a team game with employees from the company

  • make a five-minute speech

Employers may:

  • offer a job to the husband or wife of a good candidate

  • prefer to recruit people from the families of employees

  • ask candidates to complete a personality test

The Job Interview

The job interview is probably the single most important step to getting a job. If you make a good impression during the interview, you may get the job – even if you don't have all the qualifications. On the other hand, if you make a bad impression, chances are you will not be offered the position, no matter how good your qualifications.

During the interview, the employer tries to determine how well you are qualified to fulfill the requirements of the job. At the same time, the interview allows you the opportunity to assess whether or not the job is right for you, and to demonstrate how your skills or qualifications can be a positive asset to the employer.

Advice how to behave at an interview

1. Make sure you have turned your mobile phone off before you get to the building - this can be a BIG mistake.

2. First impressions count, so it is important you are not rude to the receptionist and you are polite and friendly to everyone you come into contact. Introduce yourself to the person who greets. When you meet the Interviewer, give them a firm handshake and smile at all times.

3. Answer all questions after carefully thinking about the answers - do not rush into blurting out the answers.

4. With every answer, attempt to have practical examples so you can highlight your skills and abilities through what you have actually done. Give explanations to your answers.

5. Never be negative about previous employers or people you have worked with in the past, as this will not make you look good. Try to be positive in every way.

6. At the end, thank them for their time and say you look forward to hearing from them. Ask them when they think they will be making decisions and when you will be likely to hear from them.
