2.8 List of references

Sources in the list of references should be arranged in the order they appear in the text of the diploma project (work). When referring to sources in the text, their order number in the list of references should be provided in brackets. The words “REFERENCES” are written as a header in the center in capital letters and not numbered.

In the structural element “REFERENCES” the sources are numbered in Arabic numerals and typed with indention.

Examples of bibliographic descriptions of the sources are given in Appendix.

2.9 Glossary or keywords (optional) contains a list of abbreviations and explanations.

2.10 Appendix. Material, supplementing course work: graphs, tables, calculations, descriptions of equipment and devices, descriptions of the algorithms and program codes may be put in the appendix.

Each appendix starts on a new sheet. If more than one, then the appendices are indicated by uppercase letters of the English alphabet, beginning with A. There is a letter after the word “Appendix” meaning its order. The word “Appendix” is written as a header in the center in lowercase letters, the first letter is uppercase.

3 Requirements for the text of the course work

3.1 The text of the course work is performed by any typing method using computer typing. You may use the computer capabilities focusing on certain terms, formulas, theorems, using different fonts headset (recommended no more than 2-3 different fonts).

3.2 The text of the course work must be done on one side of white A4 paper. The text of the coursework must have the following margin dimensions: top – 20 mm, bottom – 25 mm, left – 30 mm, right – 10 mm.

3.3 Typing is performed in the Microsoft Word editor, by font Times New Roman (KZ Times New Roman, Times Kaz, Times / Kazakh). The works are implemented on one side of a sheet of A4 format, 1.5 interval, by font №14, single-spaced by font №12 is allowed in the titles of tables. The text density setting must be identical. Indention within the text must be the same and equal to five characters.

3.4 All sheets of educational work should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the title page, including appendices and specifications. Pagination is put down from the page where the “INTRODUCTION” is placed, by Arabic numerals in the center of the bottom of the sheet without a point.

3.5 The names of the structural elements of the course work, "Contents", "Introduction," "The main part (sections)", "Conclusion", "List of references" (Literature), "Glossary", "Appendix" are titles of structural elements of the work.

3.6 Section titles should clearly and concisely reflect their contents.

3.7 Headings of sections and subsections:

  • section headings are written in lower case font is nonfat;

  • alignment of the title text – on page width with indention;

  • hyphenation is not allowed in headings. If the title consists of two sentences, they are separated by a dot;

  • text of the section is separated from the section header by a single line;

  • It is recommended to start each section with a new sheet;

  • section headings are numbered by order within the entire work, which are designated by Arabic numerals – 1, 2, 3, etc. There is no dot after the number;

  • subsection heading is separated from the following text by a string;

  • subsections are not printed on a new sheet, but separated by a line from the previous subsection;

If the name consists of two sentences, they are separated by dots.

3.8 Pages of the coursework should be numbered by Arabic numerals, following continuous numbering throughout the text. The page number is placed in the center of the bottom of the page without a point.

3.9 The title page is included in the total pagination. The page number on the title page is not put down.

3.10 Illustrations and tables located on a separate sheet are included into the overall pagination of the course work.
