Раздражение, негодование, обида

He was annoyed (irritated) with him (at his words). — Он был раздражен (им, его словами).

He expressed his annoyance (irritation) with her because of her conduct. — Его раздражало ее поведение.

He was angry (indignant) with him at the news. - Он был сердит на него из-за новостей.

He said (cried) in anger (in indignation) that... - Он сказал (закричал) сердито (в негодовании), что...

Не resented their criticism (interference). — Он был возмущен их крити­кой (вмешательством).

He said resentfully that... — Он сказал с обидой, что...

He said in a resentful tone that... — Он сказал обижен­ным/возмущенным тоном, что...

Не was disappointed at seeing it. — Он был разочарован, увидев это.

He expressed his grief at the news. — Он выразил огорчение по поводу ново­стей.

Не was filled with despair at... — Он был полон отчаяния...

He cried in despair that... — Он вскричал в отчаянии, что...

Must в косвенной речи обычно не меняется:

Had to также употребляется в косвенной речи, но это скорее форма прошедшего вре­мени от глагола to have to, чем от must.
