Perfect Tenses Passive Voice

Fish has already been ordered.

Had the bill been paid before you left the café?

Your dessert won’t have been served by that time.

I. Answer the questions using Present Perfect Passive.

Model: Is the chef still baking an apple pie?

No, an apple pie has already been baked.

  1. Is the waiter still cleaning the table?

  2. Are you still choosing your dishes?

  3. Is your friend still eating fish soup?

  4. Are your friends still drinking their coffee?

  5. Is your son still ordering salads from take-away restaurant?

  6. Is the chef still cooking muffins?

  7. Are children still buying hamburgers at the fast food cafe?

  8. Is the waiter still preparing your bill?

II. Open the brackets using the verbs in Present or Past Perfect Passive.

  1. Ice-cream (has been/had been) just ordered for dessert.

  2. Sandwiches (have been/had been) packed at the take-away restaurant before we left.

  3. I (have been/had been) served my meat dish before my friend came into the pub.

  4. Children (have been/had been) allowed to order pizza by telephone before their mother came home.

  5. Vegetables ((have been/had been) fried in big amount of oil, so I can’t eat them.

  6. The recipe of a new dish (has been/had been) discussed by the end of the seminar.

  7. The cake (has been/had been) baked by 7 o’clock yesterday.

  8. Our soup (has been/had been) brought into the dining room at last, we can enjoy it.

  9. Salad (has been/had been) mixed properly before the waiter served it.

  10. The bill for our lunch (has been/had been) already prepared.

III. Make the following sentences passive.

  1. They will have eaten all dishes by the end of the lunch.

  2. The waiter will have served us by that time.

  3. We will have ordered some Chinese food from take-away before you join us.

  4. By this time tomorrow children will have eaten their lunch at the fast food café.

  5. I will have chosen a cake for my mother’s birthday by the end of the week.

  6. Students will have enjoyed their hamburgers by the end of the break.

  7. Anna will have tasted the local dishes before she leaves the country.

IV. Put the verbs in brackets into Present, Past or Future Perfect Passive.
