THE PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
Утворюється за допомогою дієслова to be в Past Indefinite та дієприкметника теперішнього часу основного дієслова:

Виражає дію, що відбувалася в певний момент в минулому або дві одночасні тривали дії у минулому та вживається з словосполученнями from 5 till 6 yesterday, when I came, when I saw him, on my way home, all day long yesterday, meanwhile, while, for 2 hours, during the night :
