I am writing to apply for the position of a chief landscape architect at the Department of Landscape Architecture which was advertised last month in The Daily News.
I am currently employed as a landscape designer in a medium-sized construction company. However, I am seeking a position which will offer a greater challenge and more responsibility.
In my last job, I was responsible for managing difficult landscape designing projects, maintaining good client relationships. I was also involved in increasing the quality of the staff’s designing and graphic skills, creating clear and detailed drawings for sites including features like gardens, walkways, decks, trees, shrubs, benches, lighting and fences. I think that I work well under pressure as I had to organize several projects where I had to meet tight deadlines. Although I never avoid responsibility, I am able to delegate authority where necessary.
As for my personal qualities, I am a creative person with many ideas which may interest your company. Most people say that I am also very energetic, with the ability to motivate staff and get results. I consider myself quite resourceful as I always try to find a quick and efficient solution to a problem.
Since you are an international company it may interest you that I am fluent in German and French and have a working knowledge of Spanish.

11. Role play 1: Preparation for the job interview.
Work in pairs. Imagine that one of you is preparing for a job interview and does not know how to behave properly during the interview. So he/she is going to address a career consultant to get all the necessary advice.
