- I visited to Moscow by train. I like to travel by train.
- Why?
- I think a train to be the safest kind of the transport.
- What were you doing there?
- I went to the theatre. The theatre is the legendary Bolshoi theatre! There was doing a new play. I was fascinated by the play of actors and itself of theatre. We had a super time. That is just super!
- How did you pass your exam?
- Thank you! Passing these exams was a very heavy work, but I stood this test. I’m faced with a difficult choice. I must choice my future university and my future profession.
- It’s very important choice in everyone's life. I can tell you about my choice of university.
- Oh! It will be interesting. Please, tell you about your choice.
- Ok. I go to a good university. I'm studying at the linguistic University. Studying at this university is very difficult. We have very much homework, we are learning English. I have many complications of study English.
- What education provides the linguistic university?
- The university provides a well rounded education. There is a wide choice of departments. It is the English, the French, the German department and that of the Interpreters.
- The university is said to be very well stocked! Please, tell me! Is it true?
- Oh, yes! A well-stocked library center is equipped with a wide range of literature to meet the needs of students and to support the teaching and the research. There are language laboratories with audio-visual equipment and computers.
- Will I know the language after studying at the University?
- If you choose to study a modern language at Nizhniy Novgorod you will have every opportunity to receive intensive language training and to acquire near-native competence in the language. And are you chose your future profession?

4. Discuss your household chores with your partner. Speak about the way you share your duties at home.
- Hi!
- Hi! How are things going?
- Getting by. Could be better.
- What is the matter?
- I am very busy; I can't help my parents much in keeping the house. But still I have some household duties.
- Is it tiresome and troublesome for you?
- I would not say so. But it is no easy matter to manage a house. I consider that housecleaning may be done quicker and easier if all the members of the family attend to the duties.
- Our flat always looks neat and tidy. What should the members of a family do to keep the house in order?
- You may do the housecleaning on Saturday and Sunday may be your day of rest.
- What are you doing during the housecleaning?
- To begin with, I change the bedclothes, make the beds, collect the dirty linen and do the washing.
- Don’t you have the linen washed in the laundry?
- No, I don’t.
- It is dangerous for your skin. You soak the clothes, rinse it, and use washing powders. I must admit that housekeeping is much easier nowadays than it used to be. When I do not have enough time I visit everyday services: hairdresser, shoemaker, tailor and dry-cleaner.
- Service is generally good, but in some cases it leaves much to be desired.
- But they make the job easier.
- After washing the linen I dust and polish the furniture, mop the floor and clean the carpets with a vacuum-cleaner.
- What do other members of your family do?
- My father helps to fix and repair some things. For example, he repairs electrical appliances when they are out of order.
- What about Mom?
- My mother scrubs the gas-range and the kitchen, washes the sink and the bath-tub.
- OK. You must be tired and exhausted after all this.
- When everything looks shinning and spotless we feel quite happy about it. You don't think the household chores should be shared equally in the family, do you?
- Why? It’s not difficult to keep the flat tidy if you do your rooms regularly. This is my usual round of duties.
- I’m not so sure.
- It’s really so! But I don't know what I should do without my vacuum-cleaner, washing-machine or refrigerator to say nothing of the radio, television and a telephone.
- All right. All these things are very helpful indeed. But I will not persuade my family to buy labour-saving devices or send the washing to the laundry. It is very expensive.
- There is no point in doing so much work with my own hands. But sometimes I have some other things to do. When my mother is ill or away from home, I do the cooking and the washing up, the buying of food and the planning of meals.
- What would you like to cook?
- I am not a good cook, but my vegetable soup is always tasty. Sometimes I help my mother to bake cakes and pies, to lay the table for meals.
- Amazing! In the end, there exist hundreds of ways to look after the house.
- Of course. And If I'm too busy or cannot do these things, all the duties are organized among other members of our family.
- Well, it's time for me to leave.
- It was nice to meet you.
- Let's keep in touch. Goodbye!
- Have a good day! Bye!
