• Hi! How are you? Are you ready for the exam?

• It’s no easy matter! I have my hands full! I wanted to drop in at the buffet. My mother makes me eat, because I was in the hospital not long ago.

• What happened?

• I was ill. I had a stomachache and there was nothing left for me to do but go to the hospital.

• Were you examined by the doctor?

• Yes, of course. I had a bout of gastritis.

• I’m sorry. Are you feeling better now?

• Yes. The nurse made an injection and gave me medicine. I also had all my analyses taken. I have many problems with English. I was absent from classes for a very long time. After recovering I joined the library. Hardly had I joined the library when I started to borrow books.

• I understand you so well. I will start to learn the grammar rules when I find them in the book. I was absent from classes for a very long time too.

• Why?

• I went to Moscow by train. I like to travel by train. I think that a train is the safest kind of transport.

• What were you doing there?

• I went to the theater. The theater is the legendary Bolshoi theatre! They showed a new play there. I was fascinated by the play of actors and the theatre itself.

• What you have learned at this time?

• We learned participle 1&2. Our group has many difficulties with this structure. We read all the rules, composed and translated sentences into English. We did a lot of grammar exercises. Oh. We worked hard.

• I fall behind the group in English. I want to catch up with the group. May be if I work hard, I will get a scholarship.

• You are of the cramming sort. I can help you with the grammar. I have a lot of books and grammar tests. We must go to the library and take additional material on the subject. We must read a book in the original. I have been sitting in the reading room all day reading and looking for the structures in the book in the original.

• Being very busy, I didn’t go there. I kept at home my mind deep in rules of grammar. I have started to read for exams already. Our teacher made our group learn all the topics. If we study the rules we won’t make so many mistakes. I think we will catch up with the group. I give a helping hand every time for any people. Let’s work together.

• Thank you. I feel like passing the exam very much. The teacher said, that we must use more structures of gerund, bare – to – infinitive, participle, modal verbs in our speech.

• I know, but it’s no very easy mater. I believe we will pass this exam.

• No! I know one good café. There is a good cook and tasty coffee. The coffee and soft doughnuts are really first class.
