1. Films can tell us a lot about the country in which they were made and movies influence people’s immensely

It is belived that films tell us more about the country where they were made. Films as a part of our life can teach us a lot about various things. At the same time, while watching a movie we are able to find some new information about the country, where this film was built in. In my opinion, there is no doubt that because of the huge impact of movie on every aspect of social life. Let me prove the point above by approaching three basic elements of a movie: images, sounds and screenplays

Through a series of still or moving pictures in a film, we can know about what locals, costums and the image of daily life in that country, where the movie was filmed, look like. Nowadays, these images are high definitions and more lively in every details with the development of technology and almost of them are beautiful scenaries or the popular spots, which have become icons of the land

Music is intergal part in the film. There are various kinds of music being used in the movie but the film producers often try to use folk music as an exclusive feature of a nation to the audiences. Besides the music, there are many conversations, which were spoken by the native actors, therefore, it is also an useful resource for learning foreign languages

Screenplays is the third factor which contribute to the appeal of a movie. Because of its storylines, the audiences not only knew about the story of its characters but also the history, the lifestyle of the country. Therefore, many films have become one of teaching tools in schools today. In conclusion, I think film plays a major role in promoting a country and we should take this advantage wisely

But are films so good? Sometimes they can be harmful for people. The television can become the most important thing in the world for them. A lot of people are TV addicts. They lives life revolved around TV. They don’t see anything around them. The only treasure for them, the only friend in their lives is some film. But I think that it isn’t a real life. I don’t understand these people. There are a lot if interesting things in our life. We must understand that television is only one kind of entertainment and it mustn’t become your life.

2. Some people prefer to eat out at food stands and restaurants. Other people prepare and eat at home. Describe eating and drinking habits in English-speaking countries and Ukraine.

In Ukraine more people prefer to eat at home. We understand that it is cheaper and healthier. But some people haven’t plenty of time and eat out. In English-speaking countries more people eat out, especially busy ones. It’s easier for them to eat somewhere. For example, Americans eat out often. Fast food restaurants wide popularity. There are two types of restaurants in the US: fast food and full- service restaurants. The style of fast food restaurants is much like that of cafeteria.

In different parts of Britain people have different eating habits. Most of them have five or six meals a day: breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, dinner and later perhaps supper.

The British like to begin the day with a cup of coffee or tea. Then they have a leisurely breakfast. The traditional English breakfast starts with cereals - cornflakes with milk or porridge, an oats pudding. This can be followed by fried bacon and eggs or sausages with grilled tomatoes.

Nowadays such a breakfast is not very common, only at weekends, when people have more time.

Later in the morning they have elevenses, which is usually not more than a cup of tea and biscuits. Sometimes, often at weekends, when they get up later, they have brunch, a combination meal, which is eaten for breakfast and lunch.

The midday meal is called the lunch and is usually fairly light, consisting of a warm dish and a dessert, or just ham and cheese sandwiches and some fruit.

Around four o’clock in the afternoon the English have teatime. The meal consists of thin slices of bread and butter with cheese, fish, ham, or a meat paste, perhaps some vegetables as lettuce or tomatoes. This is followed by jam, tarts or cakes. Then there are several cups of strong tea with milk.

Dinner, the main meal, is served in the evening at around 7 o’clock, when all members of the family are at home. It may have three or four courses. The meal consists of soup, fried fish and chips or meat with vegetables. Beef, mutton and lamb are preferred to pork in England. The English cookery is famous for meat puddings and meat pies, which are usually served at dinner. As a dessert they can have a fruit salad, a pie, jelly, custard or ice cream.

Later in the evening more tea, cocoa, milk, sandwiches, cold meat or biscuits may be eaten as supper.

Ukrainian cuisine is quite tasty and well-known for its great diversity and amazing flavours; the traditional Ukrainian cuisine uses a great number of ingredients such as pork, beef, fresh vegetables, potatoes, berries, grains, chicken, fruit, herbs, fish and mushrooms. The availability of ingredients is often dependent on the season.

Popular traditional dishes include the very tasty shashlik, Salo (salted or smoked pork flavoured with garlic or other species), Borscht (a soup made with red beets, cabbage, beans and meat), Solyanka (a delicious vegetable soup), Varenyky (boiled dumplings filled with meat or vegetables), Golubtsi (cooked cabbage rolls stuffed with rice, carrots and meat and often with a thin tomato sauce), Deruny (potato pancakes) and Pampushky (rolls with garlic and melted butter on top). In the summer, when vegetables are plentiful, you will find Okroshka, a cold soup made of cucumbers, spring onion, radish, boiled potatoes, dill sausage, eggs, ham and buttermilk.

It is common for people in Ukraine to invite foreigners home, where they will put on the table their best food and drink, striving to impress guests with a great variety of home made dishes. Ukrainians drink horilka and any other strong drinks when they have guests. According to the Ukraine traditions process of drinking is pretty specific. When the glasses of all company members are full, somebody will propose a "toast". After the toast people clink their glasses with each other and drink their drinks. From the first glance toasting looks like "waist of time". But one has to remember that Ukrainian parties are less about eating or drinking, it’s about communication. Ukrainians spend hours at the table communicating, eating and drinking
