The Barber’s Uncle

William Saroyan - American Armenian writer. A productive prose writer, turned to a wide variety of genres and topics: from his historical homeland to pacifism. Saroyanse's works at one time influenced Ray Bradbury and Dovlatov. Saroyan's plays were drawn from deeply personal sources, and often disregarded the convention that conflict is essential to drama.

A boy of eleven decides to have his hair cut when a bird tries to nest in it. The barber, a wise man who shares the boy's love for the contemplation of the paradoxical nature of the world and man, tells him the story of his uncle Misak. Misak lived on fighting people until he lost his strength and, at the age of forty, poor and lonely, travelled the world and joined a touring show in which he put his head in a tiger’s mouth. Eventually, the tiger bit his head

off. The boy leaves the barber's shop with a bad haircut and a deep reflection on the loneliness of man and the contradictory nature of reality.

I think that the main idea of the text is conflict between person and society.

There are several characters in this story who have deal with this problem.

A young boy with long hair is told to get a heircut, but he full of dreams and didn’t think about his appearance. Another one is a barber he is a Midlife man with his personal values and he is under pressure, averybody wants his money that’s why he has profession which he didn’t like at all but he is a good one that’s why he can cope with it with pleasure.

And there is the barber’s uncle, who was famous for his courage and bravely. He fought with other for a living and that’s why he had a lot of money, but when he become old his force wasnt be aprciated. He became an exile. He died with a ridiculous death in poreness and loneliness.

The model millionaire.

Oscar Wilde is an English writer and poet, one of the key figures of European modernism. Originally he was popular for his comedy plays. Critics noted his wit and style, but Wilde was remembered even more by the public because of his image of an idle dandy. His image is art. The peak of his career comes in a novel "portrait of dorian gray". His style is clearly visible in this work. He described the interior and clothing a lot. And it is not surprising because he was an esthete.

Hughie is a charming good looking young man with an income of 200 pounds a year and a beautiful fiancée Laura. They love each other but Laura’s father will not hear of marriage unless Hughie has 10,000 pounds of he’s own money. Trevor is one of Hughie friends a painter who does well with his art. One afternoon Hughie pays a visit to Trevor at he‘s studio and finds a beggar modeling for him.

Moved Hughie gives him the only pound he has in his pocket but the beggar is no beggar he’s one of the richest man in London and re-wards Hughie with a 10,000 Cheque. 

the story clearly raises the topic of the fact that in our time money rules the world. even a person who is not the farthest mind and not the most shrewd can buy happiness with money. but at the same time there is still a story about kindness and that she will definitely return to you. even though Huey is not the smartest person but he is really with a kind soul and a desire to help
