Упражнения для закрепления:

Упражнение № 1. Заполните пропуски глаголом to have или оборотом have (has) got в соответствующей форме:

1. He … vegetables. 2. What fruits … your friend? He … pears and oranges. 3. Their friend … not children. 4. I … not a daughter. I … a son. 5. … you herring today? No, we … not. 6. Who … port? I … . Упражнение № 2. Ответьте на следующие вопросы:

1. have you (got) children? 2. Have you (got) a son or a daughter? 3. Has your friend (got) a son. 4. Has Pete (got) German or English books? 5. Has your friend (got) red wine? 6. What fish have you (got) today? 7. What fruits has she (got) Today? 8. Who has (got) apricots? 9. Who has (got) grapes?

Упражнение № 3. Переведите следующие предложения на английский язык, обращая внимание на употребление глагола to have и оборота have (has) got:

1. У моего друга есть сын. 2. У кого есть красный карандаш? У меня. 3. Какие книги есть у вас? У меня есть английские и немецкие книги. 4. У моих друзей два сына. 5. У вас есть виноград? Нет. Возьмите персики, пожалуйста. 6. У вас есть кетовая икра сегодня? Да.

Упражнение № 4. Прочитайте следующие предложения, обратите внимание на употребление модальных глаголов can, may, must:

1. They must study English. 2. He can speak French very well. 3. you may read this book. 4. Must we come in the evening? No, you needn’t. 5. Can I speak to your friend? Certainly. 6. Can this waiter speak, German? Yes, he can. 7. Must he order dinner now? Yes, he must. 8. May I come in? Yes, please. (Yes, you may.) 9. May I open the window? No, you mustn’t. 10. I have to make tea. 11. he doesn’t have to lay the table for lunch.

Упражнение № 5. Заполните пропуски глаголами can, may, must, have to, needn’t:

Упражнение № 6. Прочитайте следующие предложения и обратите внимание на употребление конструкции there is (there are):

1. There is restaurant in our hotel. 2. There are two halls in our restaurant. 3. Is there a tea-pot on that table? 4. Are there sandwiches for breakfast? 5. What’s there for dinner today? 6. There isn’t a menu on this table. 7. There is on marmalade for tea.
