4. Italian embassy unveils carra exhibition

KYIV. The Italian Embassy and Ministry of Culture have teamed up to unveil an art exhibition of the works of Carlo Carra. The exhibi­tion will run one week before heading to L'viv. This is the first event held by the Italian Embassy in accordance with the co-operation agree­ment it signed with Ukraine's Culture Ministry.

5. Committee approves ukrtytan founding

KYIV. The anti-monopoly committee has given the green light for the creation of the UkrTytan corporation in Kyiv. The co-founders of the new corporation are the Zaporizhya titanium-magnesium integrated works, the Tytanium research institute and UkrKolyorProm, both of whom are state-run, and the Paton Institute of Welding. The main aim of the new company will be to raise funds for the modernization of production of titanium sponge at the Zaporizhyan integrated works and the installation of equipment to cast sponge ingots. The total value of the project is estimated at US $20mn. UkrTytan's president will be Volodymyr Bakumenko, general manager of the Zaporizhya titanium-magnesium plant.

6. Nbu urges to initiate banking changes

KYIV. The NBU has urged the VR to supplement its law on banks and banking with a new provision ordering commercial banks to notify the former by April 1 whether they have increased their statu­tory funds to the mandatory level of ECU 1 mn. According to the NBU, two commercial banks have failed to comply with the demand, while 17 others have increased their statutory funds but failed to notify the NBU about changes made.

Европейский Банк Реструктуризации и Развития 10 марта одобрил решение о привлечении лидеров международных консалтинговых фирм, работающих в Украине, чтобы внести их идеи в подготовку аналитических статей для включения в официальный Европейский Банк Реструктуризации и Развития каталога Украины: Перспективы на 21 век. Представитель Харьковского регионального центра развития г.Ньюбизнет, Александр Дудка, 11 марта сообщил о том, что после рассмотрения информации, полученной из официальных государственных источников и от правительства, организаторы решили принять другую точку зрения международного бизнеса «чтобы сделать публикацию более интересной». Фирмам будет предложено писать аналитические материалы по инвестионной притягательности разных секторов, условиям торговли и препятствиям для торговли. 2 компании, Ньюбизнет и Компьютерные системы будут переводить эти статьи и выпускать 5000 печатных экземпляров и 10 000 компакт-дисков, которые будут распространены среди всех компаний, зарегистрировавшихся для участия в конгрессе в мае.

8. ПРОЕКТ ДЛЯ НОВОГО БИЗНЕС-ЦЕНТРА ОТКРЫТ

Киев. Состоялась презентация проекта нового бизнес-центра в отдел архитектуры Киевской Администрации 11 марта. Проект был разработан для Киевской компании H & F Форумом немецким Батхерст (ZBF) - Берлин и Киевским архитектурным союзом с участием архитекторов из Австрии и Австралии. Согласно проекту, 4-звездочный отель, торговая зона, рестораны, кафе и офис будет построен вокруг площади Леси Украинки в Киеве. Комплекс будет занимать площадь в 42 000 кв. Осенью этого года начнется строительство бизнес-центра с некоторыми инвестиционными фондами из Германии.

9. "GALICIAN ADHERENTS" (Markiyan Shashkevych, Ivan Vahylevych, Yakov holovatsky)

In the memory of descendants, the name of Markiyan Shashkevich appears along with the names of Ivan Vagilevich and Jacob Golovatsky, the "Russian Trinity" of the public-literary group, the association of like-minded people that in the 30-ies of the XIX state the beginning of the ascetic revival of Ukrainians in Galicia. In 1834 Shashkevych amounted to an anthology of his works, titled "dawn", written by folk Ukrainian language, incorporating poetry of his companions and folk songs.

In October 1836, permission was granted, and in December of the same year appeared dated 1837 the book itself is called "Rusalka Dnistrova". It consisted of collections of folk doom songs, "ladkani" (merry melodies), with "pregovora" (receipt) . Vahylevych, original works of Tchaikovsky, translations of the Serbian epic and Kralodvorska manuscripts that did holovatsky and Shashkevych. Despite the moderation of the views of "Russian Trinity", the response of the authorities to the publication of "Mermaids Transnistria" was quite severe. 800 copies of the compilation were arrested in Vienna. Many "dangerous places" and saw Lviv censorship did not allow the transport circulation in the city. Of course, the "Russian Trinity" cannot be compared with the "giants" of the national idea, their contemporaries

Shevchenko, P. Kulish, N. Kostomarov. However, they were the first who awakened the national consciousness of the Ukrainians in Galicia, attracted them to the cause of the people that was on the historical side. They "resuscitated" the Ukrainian language, tore away from it the bunch of books, started a new Ukrainian literature in Galicia. Their fluctuations and inconsistencies may not go away from personal traits, but to a certain extent they were inherent in Ukrainians in general, which often, despite objective realities in a romantic fire, fought for their people the right to the future for a happier fate.
