Topic: Crime and Law

Aims:

  1. to enlarge vocabulary related to the topic “Crime and Law”

  2. to develop speaking, reading skills

  3. to practice vocabulary

Type: integrative

Vocabulary game with students, to revise previous material.

-defence- звинувачувати

-drug trafficking- розповсюдження наркотиків

- witness- свідок

-self-defence-самооборона

-suspect-підозрювати

-arsonist-підпалювач

-victim-жертва

- teacher read aloud pronunciation and students repeat it:

- students read text on topic “Crime”, which contains new words.

Teacher, after reading the text, asks students the questions. Students on a chain answer them.

Teacher gives new words to the game:

-maid- служниця

-vicar- свяченник

-butler- дворецький

-treasure- скарб

-victim- жертва

-witness- свідок

-chandelier- підсвічник

Playing the game:

-students are divided into three groups

-students are reading the text

-students are forming three new groups according to scenario to the story

-they are discussing the story

-in the end they decide who the murder in the story is
