Module 1 Leisure activities Entertainment Spending free time

Vocabulary

  1. sunbathing, going to the gym, playing computer games, going dancing, playing the guitar, playing football, entertaining friends, surfing the Internet, going for a run, going shopping, going for a walk, listening to the radio/cassettes/CDs, watching TV, reading (comics, novels, fashion magazines

  10. Do you find watching films on DVD a good idea?

  11. What other ways to entertain oneself are as good as going to the cinema?

Module 3 People around you Learning English

Vocabulary

the secrets of successful language learning (hard work, enjoying learning, really believing that you’ll be successful, having a good teacher, motivation (really wanting to learn), studying lots of grammar, getting praise from your teacher, being realistic about the progress you can make, developing an ear for the language, reading and listening to lots of English); frustrating, stressful, do things systematically, need an extra push, overcome, enjoyable, practice, write down, look up, guess, make/correct mistakes, dictionary; Languages live!
