The Mikhalkovs is a Russian noble kin known from the end of the 15th century. Many of their scions worked for

the Soviet Union and modern Russia.

Mikhail Ivanovich (Mikhalko) was the first forefather of this family.

Other famous ancestors are:

Andrey Tymofeevich Mikhalkov was a viceroy in Tula and a voivode in Smolensk.

Griditsa was mentioned in ancient manuscripts in 1498.

Konstantin Ivanovich was a servant of tsar Mikhail Romanov.

Vasily Surikov

Vasily Ivanovich Surikov (January 24, 1848 – March 19, 1916 ) was the foremost Russian painter of large- scale historical subjects. His major pieces are among the best-known paintings in Russia.

Vasily Surikov’s great grandsons are Nikita Mikhalkov and Andrey Konchalovsky.

Sergey Mikhalkov

Sergey Vladimirovich Mikhalkov ( 13 March 1913 − 27 August 2009) was

a Soviet and Russian author of children's books and

satirical fables who had the opportunity to write the lyrics of his country's national anthem on three different occasions, spanning almost 60 years.

Mikhalkov stemmed from the noble family of Mikhalkovs, which had tsarist admirals, governors, and princes among his grandparents.

Andrey Konchalovsky

Andrey Konchalovsky is a Soviet, American and Russian director, script writer.

He is a son of Natalia Konchalovskaya and Sergey Mikhalkov, and brother to Nikita Mikhalkov who is also a well known Russian film director.

His great-grandfather on his mother's side was a Russian painter Vasily Surikov.

His elder sister is Ekaterina, Natalia Konchalovskaya's daughter from her first marriage. She was married to Yulian Semyonov, a famous Soviet writer.

Andrei Konchalovsky has been married five times: Irina Kandat, ballerina (from 1955 to 1957).

Natalia Arinbasarova, ballerina and actress (from 1965 to 1969.). They have son, Yegor Konchalovsky, a film director.

Viviane Mikhalkova (Gaudet), expert on Orientalism (from 1969 to 1980.). They have daughter, Alexandra.

Irina Martynova, TV presenter (from 1990 to 1997). They have two daughters, Natalie and Elena.

Julia Vysotskaya, actress and TV presenter (1998–present). They have a daughter, Maria and a son, Peter.

He also has another daughter, Daria, with actress Irina Brazgovka.

Nikita Mikhalkov

Nikita Sergeyevich Mikhalkov is

a Soviet and Russian filmmaker, actor, and head of the Russian Cinematographers' Union.

Mikhalkov was born in Moscow into the distinguished, artistic Mikhalkov family. His great grandfather was the imperial governor of Yaroslavl, whose mother was a Galitzine princess.

Mikhalkov's first wife was a renowned Russian actress Anastasia Vertinskaya, whom he married on March 6, 1967. They had a son, Stepan Mikhalkov, born in September 1966.
