«Foreign languages in Our life»

Learning a foreign language is not an easy thing. Nowadays it’s especially important to know foreign languages. Some people learn languages because they need them for their work, others travel abroad, for the third studying foreign languages is a hobby. Everyone, who knows foreign languages can speak to people from other countries, read foreign authors in the original, which makes your outlook wider.

I study English . It’s a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and efforts. Over 300 million people speak it is as a mother tongue. The native speakers of English live in Great Britan, the United States of America, Australia and New Zealand. English is one of the official languages of the United Nations Organization and other political organizations. In some countries, such as Nigeria and India, there are often many different languages and so these countries we English as am ``official`` or ``second language for different, business and education.

Ich lerne Deutsch, um vielseitiger Mensch zu sein, um neue Lander und Leute, Traditionen und Kultur kennenzulernen. Der grosste Goethe sagte «Wer eine Fremdsprache nicht kennt,weiss nichts von seiner eigenen».

Das ist absolut richtig! Die deutsche Sprache ist eine Sprache der Kultur und der Wissenschaft. Der Anekdote bitte dazu:

« Zu dem beruhmten Sprachforscher und Marchendichter Wilchelm Grimm kam ein franzosischer Student. Dieser lebte in Berlin schon drei Jahre, konnte aber nur wenig Deutsch.

“Warum haben Sie Deutsch nicht gelernt?” fragte Grimm.

“Deutsch ist nicht schon”, antwortete der Student. “Das ist eine Sprache fur Pferde.”

“Ach”, sagte Grimm erstaunt. “Nun verstehe ich, warum Esel sie nicht erlernen konnen.””
