    1. Запишіть все, що говорить вчитель перед презентацією нової лексики.

    2. Напишіть, які нові слова опрацьовуються на уроці.

    3. Напишіть, які шляхи розкриття значення нових слів використовує вчитель.

    4. Напишіть, яким чином вчитель радить учням запам’ятовувати нові слова.

    5. Напишіть приклади контексту, який вчитель використовує для семантизації нової лексики.

    6. Напишіть все, що учні пишуть на дошці та прокоментуйте ці записи.

    7. Напишіть все, що робить вчитель для формування ЛК учнів.

    8. Підсумуйте свої спостереження.

    9. Напишіть, що б Ви порадили вчителю щодо удосконалення даного уроку.

  2. 5. Проаналізуйте фрагмент уроку з метою навчання лексики, звертаючи увагу на:

  5. 3) ефективність використання вербальних та візуальних опор;

  8. Мета : формування ЛК по темі "Meals".

  9. Stage I. Presentation.

  10. 1. Guess the topic of our lesson.

  11. The teacher greets the children, then shows them the hidden picture to guess the topic they are going to learn. The picture is covered with a white piece of paper with the holes cut in it. The teacher opens "windows" one by one and the, children try to guess. The baked chicken was shown in the picture.

  12. - So, our topic is "Meals".

  13. Then a teacher asks different questions, connected with the topic, pupils’ likes and dislikes:

  14. - Do you prefer meat or vegetables?

  15. - Are you a meat-eater or a vegetarian?

  16. - Raise your hand if you're a vegetarian?

  17. - What is your favourite Ukrainian dish?

  18. - What do people in the USA/Great Britain eat ...for breakfast?

  19. (have) ... for dinner?

  20. ...at work?

  21. ...on family holidays?

  22. - Thus I want to introduce the rich and wholesome realm of vegetables and fruit. Welcome to this interesting world.

  23. 2. Look at the pictures and repeat the word if it is your favourite fruit or vegetable. The teacher shows bright pictures of 6 vegetables and fruit (12 altogether). The teacher asks to repeat if it is their favourite.

  24. Children write down all new words in their copybooks.

  25. 3. Match the pictures to the written words.

  26. The pupil comes up to the blackboard and writes down all the words children dictate and they have learned. And the children one by one stick the picture with the vegetable or fruit to a proper word on the blackboard.

  27. And then all the pupils check if everything is correct and pronounce after the pupil.

  28. 4. Say if it s wrong or correct. Comprehension check.

  29. 1. Chips are made from tomatoes. (Wrong - right answer is “potatoes”).

  30. 2. As bruised as a banana. (Right).

  31. 3. As cool as an orange. (Wrong - Wright answer is “cucumber”).

  32. 4. Monkeys are fond of cherries. (Wrong - right answer is “bananas”).

  33. 5. Peeling potatoes you start crying desperately. (“Onion”).

  34. 6. Fruit, colour, popular juice. (Orange).

  35. 7. As easy as an apple pie. (Right).

  36. 8. Rabbits like pears. (Wrong - right answer is “carrots”).

  37. II. Focussed Practice.

  38. 1. Fill in the word-fork.

  46. 2. Give your associations with the following words: cucumber, carrot, tomatoes, potatoes, onion, bananas, cherries, oranges, apples, grapes.

  47. 3. Make up sentences with the alone-mentioned words. Do it in chain.

  48. 4. Let's play a game. Form 2 circles (a big one and a small one) to face each other. Collect information about your group mates' preferences in food among fruits and vegetables, while moving in different directions. Then share your information with the others and make a conclusion what vegetables and fruit are favourite ones in your group.

  49. 5. Use your gestures to show the fruit or vegetable which is on the card. The rest of the pupils are to guess, which fruit/vegetable you represent.

  50. Ш. Communicative practice.

  51. 1. Write down 5 things which you can find in a shopping basket of:

  52. a) a good housewife;

  53. b) a divorced man;

  54. c) a woman on a diet;

  55. d) a heavy eater;

  56. e) someone expecting guests.

  57. 2. Divided into 2 groups and make 2 salads.

  58. Make up an advertisement for your salads.

  59. 3. Look at the following table rules and compose your own.

  60. 1) Don't put your elbows on the table.

  61. 2) Don't speak while eating.

  62. 4. Write down an advertisement of your favourite fruit or vegetable. Look at the example:

  63. "Try the sweetest and the most tasty apples in the world".

  64. 5. Choose one vegetable or fruit you like and imagine that you are this vegetable. Think of 5 sentences in which you can describe yourself.

  65. Each sentence should begin with "I am...", for example: I'm sweet or I like to make people cry. Say your sentences to the audience. Try to give complicated characteristics so that others can't guess what fruit or vegetable you bear in mind.

  66. 6. Look at the menu and choose the meals as if you were:

  67. a) two gluttons;

  68. b) two students dying from starvation;

  69. c) models on a diet.
