Prior arrival Port, all cargo system, associated equipment, alarms must be tested & checked for correct operation & be in full readiness.
Any defects noted must be corrected prior Ops, SMO to be informed in case corrective measures cannot be taken to rectify faults on critical equipment.
Report faults before putting the ship & its
crew into any form of danger during Ops

Remember… it is essential to complete cargo system checks & tests much prior commencement of cargo ops & arrival port & this should not be left for the last moment when vessel is alongside & busy with accommodating the needs for Port & Terminal Authorities.
