1.1 Voyage orders
The personnel involved in cargo operations should be fully aware of these instructions, their duties and be thoroughly trained in the correct Cargo handling procedures.

1.1 Voyage orders
Each vessel, which is certified for carriage of noxious liquid substances (NLS) in bulk is provided with Procedures & Arrangement Manual (P&A). The purpose of this manual is to identify the arrangements and equipment to enable compliance with MARPOL Annex II.

P&A Manual provides the ship’s Officers all operational procedures related to cargo handling, tank cleaning, slops handling, residue discharging, ballasting and de-ballasting,
These procedures must be strictly followed.

1.2 Stow Plan review
The prime responsibility for planning the cargo operation rests with the Master and Chief Officer.
Junior Officers should also be familiar with the basic elements of this task in order to be more aware of the intended operation and to prepare themselves for future promotion.

1.2 Stow Plan review
The voyage orders are usually issued by the Management
office/Charterer and sent to the vessel telex, fax, e-mail or any other
available means.
The Master must confirm receipt and understanding to the
management office/Charterer accordingly.

1.2 Stow Plan review
Typical voyage orders should contain the following elements:
Voyage;
IMO ship’s type number;
Port Rotation (loading-discharge ports);
Cargo quantity, commodity and options;
