I cannot but regret, now that I am concluding my story (теперь не могу не сожалеть, завершая свой рассказ), how little I am able to contribute (о том, какой малый вклад я могу сделать) to the discussion of the many debatable questions (в обсуждение многих спорных вопросов) which are still unsettled (которые все еще не разрешены).
