які у 2013 році вступають на навчання за освітньо-професійною програмою підготовки

спеціаліста на основі базової вищої освіти за спеціальністю

 

7.02030302 Мова і література (англійська) перелік комунікативних ситуацій

 

  1. You are to make a lecture on British schooling.

  2. You have attended a course оf lectures on the healthy way of life. Now you are talking about it with your friends over phone. Inform him/her what were the lectures about, who read the lectures, when and where they took place; tell what you think of the main items of the lectures; say if you agree to all the pieces of advice and whether you are going to follow them.

  3. You write your pen friend about the system of higher education in Ukraine. You add some words about your University. 

  4. You live in the USA. Your friend is a student at a law school. He has been given the task to make a comparative analysis of the professional training and career development of lawyers in the USA and Ukraine.

  5. You are going to invite some friends from England to dinner. What dishes will you cook? Give your reasons.

  6. Imagine your friend who has invited you to Great Britain or the USA. Ask him (her): how they celebrate their holidays; what  the main public holidays in Great Britain or the USA are; express hope that you'll have a lot of fun together.

  7. You talk with your foreign friend about the religious holidays, which are observed in Ukraine, Britain and the USA.

  8. Write a letter to an English-speaking pen friend answering his/her questions about the educational system in this country.

  9. Describe how books influence people. Why do you think so?

  10. A new pupil came to your class. He had lived abroad before. Give him general information about Ukraine. Ask him about the country he came from. Say a few words about geographical position, life in Ukraine.

  11. Imagine that during your stay in Great Britain or the USA you needed to buy a dictionary at a bookshop. Tell your friends: about the way you asked for help when you could not find the depart­ment-store of reference books; who helped you and in what way; about  the ways of selling books.

  12. Imagine that your English friend is invited to a Geography class. He answers the students' questions about Great Britain.

  13. You have met your neighbour who entered the university. Tell him about your plans for the future. Ask him about his future profession. Give the ground, reasons for your choice.

  14. During your stay in Great Britain or the USA you are invited to the theatre, and you want to go to the disco. Give your friends suggestions how to spend spare time. Decline the offer to go to the theatre and argue your opinion. Agree to a compromise and invite your friends to go to the cinema.

  15. You participated in an international sports competition. Tell your friends about the events you took part in. Inform what countries the participants were from and age category they were in. Describe your impressions and the atmosphere in which the events took place. What traits of characters does it bring up? What is the importance of going in for sports?

  16. You want to go abroad on your holidays. Call at the travel agency and ask them about the price of a tour including travelling expenses.

  17. Write a review of the film based on a well-known book you have seen and liked very much.

  18. You are going on a picnic on Sunday. Invite your friends to join you. Discuss/arrange the time, the food, the place. Use a dialogue form.

  19. Imagine a day in your life ten years from now. Where will you live? A house or a flat? Describe this place.

  20. It would be very difficult to describe a "typical" American school because there are many differences from place to place. Can you compare it to  British System?

  21. Why is it important to know foreign languages? Discuss the problem in as many aspects ( practical, cultural, educational, etc.) as you can.

  22. Give arguments for or against the following statement "Children should be brought up strictly".

  23. Imagine that you are speaking with your favourite painter, no matter who he is or when he lived. What would you like to tell him about his painting? What would you like to ask him about? Give a short description of your favourite painting. Don't forget to mention its genre, subject, composition and colouring.

  24. Imagine you take part in the international conference on environmental protection. Inform the participants about the pollution-related problems in Ukraine. Ask them how these problems are solved in other countries. Tell about the importance of the environmental protection.

  25. Comment on the statement: “Defense of the Motherland, its independence and territory integrity, respect in the State Symbols are the duty of Ukrainian citizens”.

  26. You are taking the friend of yours to the National Opera and Ballet Theatre. You share your views on cultural life of Ukraine.

  27. Write a paragraph about the reasons why you like or dislike reading newspapers/watching news programs. What role mass media play in our life?

  28. Imagine that you are answering a question in the questionnaire about your tastes in music. What would you write in it?

  29. You give your suggestions as to how to improve the quality and raise the standard of TV programmes.

  30. Speak on the role of drug addiction and alcohol consumption in the growing crime rate in general and in juvenile delinquency in particular.
