Description
Specifies whether the design hierarchy is a Cadence data base (CDBA), netlist driven layout
(NDL), or mixed CDBA and NDL hierarchy. If set to t, the Virtuoso XL layout editor switches between the CDBA and NDL hierarchies. The default is nil.

updateReplacesMasters
layoutXL updateReplacesMasters boolean { t | nil }
Description
When you run the command, lets a layout instance correspond to a matching schematic instance and has its master replaced if the instance has the incorrect master (set to t). If nil, the instance master is not replaced, allowing the instance with the incorrect master to bind with the matching schematic instance (a warning appears in the CIW). The default is t.
Note: You can use updateWithMarkers when updateReplacesMasters is set to t. Replaces the current instance with the correct master (updateReplacesMasters set to nil), or creates a new instance with the correct master below the design boundary and puts a marker on the existing instance (updateReplacesMasters set to t).
