1. Memorize the rules of reading:
Буквосочетание ou обычно читается [au]: house [haus] дом, sound [saund] звук. Но: should [∫ud], could [kud].
Буквосочетание ow обычно читается в середине слова как [au], в конце слова как [ou]: town [taun] город, brown [braun] коричневый, window [’windəu] окно, snow [snəu] снег. Но: now [nau], how [hau].
