2. Ответьте на вопросы, используя предложения в правой колонке.

1. Did you see anybody in the dining–room?

2. Will you go anywhere this summer?

1. No, I’ll go nowhere till November.

4. Ознакомьтесь с образцами, а затем составьте своп диалог. Скажите, что у вас что–то сломалось, и спросите, не может ли кто–нибудь помочь вам.

Example::

– There is something wrong with my bicycle. Do you know anybody who can help me?

– Not really. I myself don’t know anything about bicycles.

We should find somebody who can fix your bicycle.

(Car, refrigerator, tape–recorder, TV set, radio–set, washing–machine, iron, vacuum–cleaner, watch, lock, piano, transistor)

5. Переведите на английский язык.

1. Дайте мне что-нибудь поесть, пожалуйста. 2. Сегодня ничего не ешьте. 3. У меня нет ничего поесть. 4. Попросите кого–нибудь помочь ему. 5. Давайте что–нибудь сделаем для него. 6. Кто–нибудь хочет пойти в кино? – Никто.

6. Вместо точек вставьте необходимые местоимения some, any, anything и заучите данный ниже диалог.

At the Dining – Room

Waiter Here are your drinks. What would you like for dinner? Would you like... vegetables?

Pete Yes, ... peas and ... roast potatoes.

Jane I’d like... chips, please.

Waiter Would you like... to start with?

Pete Yes, melon for me.

Waiter And you, miss?

Ann I’d like grapefruit first and then roast beef. Have you got... cauliflower?

Waiter I’m sorry, we haven’t got... cauliflower.

7. Переведите предложения, обращая внимание на неопределенные местоимения и их производные.

I. There is somebody in the kitchen. 2. Is there anybody in the bathroom? – No. there is nobody there. 3. Is there anything in the yard? – Yes, there are some cars there. 4. Are there any buses in the street? – Yes, there are some. 5.I can see nothing there. 6.I hope there is somebody in the house. 7. Did you see anything on the table? – Yes, I did. I saw something. 8. You may come any time you like.

8. Составьте микродиалоги, используя неопределенные местоимения и их производные. Темы возьмите из окружающей вас обстановки

Example:

– Look at the shelf. Are there any English books?

–Yes, there are some text–books and a dictionary.

in the street – cars, buses; in the yard – boys, a girl; in the bag – books, note–books; on the table – a pen, pencils; in the classroom – desks, the teacher’s table; on the wall – pictures, a timetable.

9. Определите из данных ниже местоимений, какие являются исчисляемыми, а какие неисчисляемые, и поставьте перед существительными соответствующие местоимения.

Example:: much (little) milk, many (few) friends

House, air, water, school, island, sand, sea, ocean, snow, light, bread, salt, wine, flower, aunt, uncle, grass, road, rice.

10. Из слов, данных в скобках, выберите необходимое и переведите предложения.

1. We have (much, many) fruit in autumn. 2. These students earned (much, many) money last summer. 3. (Little, few) children like to wash their neck in the morning. 4. (Little, few) girls go in for karate. 5. Our students have (much, many) free time in summer. 6. Give me (a little, a few) milk, please.

11. Скажите, каких продуктов у вас дома много и каких мало.

Example: We have many potatoes but little rice (meat)

(meat, eggs, bread, butter, milk, bottles of milk, packet of salt, bacon, chicken, sausages, tomatoes, cabbage, fruit, apples, cheese, tea, coffee, cakes, honey, nuts, sweets, bananas)

12. Составьте диалог, используя следующую ситуацию: Вы готовитесь с другом к экзаменам, проголодались и решили перекусить.

Example:

– I’m tired, let’s have a rest.

  • Well, let’s make an omelet (scrambled eggs)

– Sorry, we have few eggs. I’ll make pancakes. We have much flour.

  1. Salad – potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, apples.

  2. Soup – rice, potatoes, cabbage.

  3. Pizza – cheese, flour.

  4. Sandwich – ham, sausage, sausages, butter, bread.

  5. Omelet – eggs. milk, flour, butter.

13. Составьте диалоги, используя a little или a few и нижеприведенные слова и словосочетания.

Example 1:

– Are there many benches in the park?

– There are only a few.

Example 2:

– Is there much butter in the fridge?

– There is only a little.

  1. people – at the meeting;

  2. students – in the classroom;

  3. children – at the river;

  4. work – in the garden;

  5. money – in the purse,

  6. pictures – in the book,

  7. fish – in the lake;

  8. rice – in the packet;

  9. sweets – in the vase;

  10. ice – in the fridge;

  11. tea – in the tea–pot;

  12. books – in the bookcase;

  13. water – in the well;

  14. ink – in your pen;

  15. cars – in the streets;

  16. ice-cream – in the freezer.
