My research work and my supervisor

Last year I made up my mind to take a research and study for a master degree. So I took entrance examinations and was admitted to a master course. I think it will be useful for my future career.

I work under the guidance of Professor Alibekov S. Y., who is Doctor of Technical Sciences. He is the Head of the Chair of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Technology of Volga State University of Technology. Professor Alibekov S. Y. is known for his studying the issues of Materials Technology in terms of chemical processes. He is the author of numerous publications, articles, papers and some monographs. He often takes part in the work of scientific conferences and sometimes organizes them.

I have been working in close contact with my scientific supervisor. He always helps me when I have difficulties in my work. It’s a merit of my supervisor who gave me a chance to do research.

The subject of my research work is devoted to the problems of testing pipelines. These problems are very important today. The purpose of my research is to determine the metal state in the pipeline. The field of my interest is effects of corrosion in the field of mechanical engineering.

This problem is going to be investigated with such scientific methods as comparative analysis, stress-strain properties and accustic-emission methods, chemical properties analysis, etc. In the course of my research on the metal state in the pipeline I’m going to determine the wall thickness of the pipeline and the mechanical strength.

Besides, I’m going to analyse the reasons for destructions which may take place. I hope the results of my research will be important. They could be applied in thermal power plants. I think, it will give the chance to avoid serious accidents.
