Часть пособия составляют специально отобранные и переработанные упражнения и тексты из аутентичных учебных пособий. Упражнения построены по принципу нарастания языковых трудностей с учетом многоуровнего подхода к обучению. Пособие состоит из 13 тем, отображающих основные грамматические аспекты современного английского языка. Каждая тема включает различные виды тренировочных упражнений, которые выполняются поэтапно.

1-й этап (языковые упражнения):

-на узнавание и восприятие грамматического явления;

-имитативные (действие по структурному образцу).

Данный вид упражнений направлен на первичное закрепление определенной грамматической единицы, т.е. на овладевание ее формой.

2-й этап (условно-речевые упражнения):

-подстановочные (раскрыть скобки, вставить в пропуски, выбрать правильный вариант);

-трансформационные (изменить форму, исправить ошибки). Эти упражнения направлены на развитие и формирование грамматического навыка, т.е. автоматизированные действия в процессе чтения или письма.

3-й этап (речевые упражнения):

-ситуативные (отреагировать, ответить на вопросы по ситуации, перевести с русского на английский и наоборот);

-проекционные (восстановить, распространить, закончить предложения).Этот вид упражнений направлен на развитие речевых умений, т.е. употребление грамматических единиц в устной речи (диалогической и монологической)

Лексикаупражненийдостаточнопроста, что обеспечивает наиболее эффективное усвоение грамматического материала. Многие упражнения содержат увлекательные задания и юмористические предложения, заимствованные из рекламных роликов, песен, фильмов, компьютерных игр и т..д, что, безусловно, повышает учебную мотивацию у студентов.

Большое внимание уделяется страдательному залогу и неличным формам глагола. Упражнения на эти темы содержат

большое количество специализированной лексики и терминов, что поможет студентам в переводе сложной технической литературы. В конце пособия дана таблица неправильных глаголов.
