when we retire that's where the social security money comes from, that's where the medic care benefits come from. If you're self employed, you're in a hope for the whole 15, 2 %.

Oprah: That's true. So what happens then if you don't live to collect that?

Maria: Good question. Your heir may to get that. But there's a lot of paper work involved, a lot of people questioned whether or not your air will actually get that money. It may or may not be there. That's a debate.

Oprah: That's a debate. OK, OK! I got another question for you. Who knows what the stock market really is?

(She addresses the audience)

Oprah: Let's see the result. OK! That's interesting - 41 % say they do, 59 % say. Maria: You know that, it's a market of stocks. Basically it is companies that trade giving individuals an opportunity to have ownership of companies. They get a small business, they need to raise money. A small business needs to raise money. It offers individuals an opportunity to have a state in that company that stock will trade and it's changing minute by minute. Stock market is open from 9.30 to 4.00. It could be one price at 9.30, completely different price at 4 o'clock. Because it all depends on how much demand there is out there. So if there's a lot of people who want a stock, it's going to go up.

Oprah: Why are the guys on the floor yelling so much?

Maria: Because information is moving so quickly, and stocks are trading all day long. So let me give you a quick analogy. You're in home; you call your broker and say: "I want to buy a million shares of IBM". Your broker calls his representation on the floor, so there's another broker standing on the floor. He goes over the post where IBM is traded. You want to buy a million shares of IBM; he's going to get somebody who sells it to you. He's going to run over that post, and you said to your broker: "I want to buy IBM but I'm not paying one penny more than 70 $ for share". He is going to get over the post before the stock changes in price. So he's his million shares order from Oprah and he says: "I'm going to order the IBM post. I'm going to find these million shares".

Oprah: So he is physically running over.

Maria: He is physically running over because if somebody gets in front of you, and they want to buy a million shares, and somebody else want to buy more shares, and the stock market price goes up, finally your broker calls you and says: "I couldn't buy it for 70 $, only for 75". And you're going to say: "You're fired".

Oprah: OK, that's why they're yelling. When you buy stocks does the money actually change hands or is it just a numbers game on the big board?

Maria: It's certainly a numbers garnet but at some point you're going to ask to send the check. If you want to buy that stock, and you want to own that stock, you're send-

31

ing the money to the person who's selling you the stocks. So, yes that day you feel like it's a numbers game. But it will come home to rue, you got to send the money. Oprah: You know, when I first started making money, because I grew up in the year when my father said:"Put it in a shoe box, that's what you need to do", and when I counters, went to the bank, I was very scared to be falsified. And I always wanted to go to all the accounts that I have and say:"Let me see the money. Show me the money".

But one of the top financial wizards (Warren Buffett) in the world has a strategy to becoming rich at the stock market. What is it?

Maria: This strategy is to buy well-known quality companies equal to the market leaders - Coca Cola's of the world, American Express, two his big holdings. He wants to buy quality companies at good prices. So, you want to buy a new sweater, you may love this sweater for 20 $. And do you still love this sweater for 120 $? Maybe not. He's only going to buy good companies at good prices.

When Warren and Maureen Nyerges bought a piece of the American Dream in 2009 by purchasing a foreclosed home in Florida, the couple never knew it would turn into a nightmare.

The couple, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, targeted southwest Florida as the place for their home due, in part, to the high number of foreclosed homes in the area. And after buying the single-story, 2,700-squanT-foot home from Bank of America for

35

$165,000, the Nyergeses never thought they'd hear from the bank again -- let alone to receive a foreclosure notice just one year later, in 2010.

"We purchased the house in full, no mortgage at all," Warren Nyerges, 46, told FoxNews.com on Monday. "Four months later, we got a knock on the door from a processor. We said there was no4nortgage, but we were told, 'Sorry, get a lawyer.'"

Bank of America mistakenly filed a foreclosure claim against the couple despite the absence of a mortgage, prompting the Nyergeses to take the matter to court. The couple eventually won, but then asked Bank of America to pay for $2,534 in attorney fees. A Collier County judge ruled the bank should pay, but the bank never did.

On Friday, Maureen Nyerges and the couple's attorney, along with two sheriffs deputies and moving company employees, went to a local Bank, of America branch to take possession of furniture inside the bank to settle the debt. An hour later, the bank wrote a check for $5,772.88 to satisfy the original debt plus other fees.

The Nyergeses, however, still have not receives that money roughly $3000. Attorney Todd Allen said the situation is a "symptom of a larger problem," par-

ticularly in Florida.

"Banks are not doing due diligence investigating foreclosures before they file," he told FoxNews.com. "But this is long overdue. It's sweet, sweet justice."

Nyerges, a retired police officer who suffers from a heart condition, said the entire ordeal has been physically and financially taxing.

"It's cost me a lot of time and effort and unnecessary grief," he said. "This is the last thing I wanted. I just want the bank to leave us alone. We sold our old house and just wanted to live in peace and quiet."

After months of fruitless calls to Bank of America and its local counsel at the David J. Stern law firm, Nyerges said he saw no other choice but to go directly to the bank on Friday to demand either $2,500 in attorney fees or furniture and cash.

In a statement to FoxNews.com, Bank of America officials apologized for the error. "We apologize to Mr. Nyegres [sic] that there was a delay in receiving the funds," the statement read. "The original request went to an outside attorney who is no longer in business."

36

Meanwhile, Stern's law office told judges across Florida in March that it will end its involvement in 100,000 foreclosure cases.

According to employee testimony filed with Florida authorities, Stern employees churned out bogus mortgage assignments, faked signatures, falsified notarizations and foreclosed on people without verifying their identities, the amounts they owed or who owned their loans.

The attorney general is also looking at whether Stern paid kickbacks to big banks.

This isn't the first time that Bank of America has tried to foreclose on a property that was owned by a person without a mortgage. In 2009, a Fort Lauderdale man named Jason Grodensky bought a home in cash from Bank of America in a short sale. But in court, the foreclosure case continued and a judge ordered the property to be sold. Bank of America acknowledged the error and rescinded the foreclosure.

Nyerges, who still intends to keep his personal bank account with Bank of America, said he's not expecting a smooth ride with the bank moving forward. He also noted that bank officials even misspelled his name in statements to the media.

"I will not be surprised if something else pops up," he said. "Nothing surprises me with this bank. The entire apology is a lie from word one to the period at the end. I hope in the future Bank of America handles these matters better and tries to help people who are really in need or have an issue to no fault of their own. I can only imagine how they treat a real customer in need."
