Urfu

The history of its foundation and development is closely connected with the history of training engineering in the country as what end the development of the Ural is particular.

V.I. Lenin signed the degree about establishment Ural State University. Seven institution were a part in University mountain, polytechnic, medical, agricultural, pedagogical, social studies and working faculty.

The Urfu is one of the biggest and most prestigious institutions of higher education in Russia. Because student body of the University is over 57000, more then 30000 study full-time (urfu is compared with Moscow State University and South Federal University). The academic staff consist of more than 3500 lectures and scientists. Among them, there are 650 doctors, 30 associate members of the Russia academy of science. The rector of the Urfu is V.A. Koksharov. He was the head of the government. The president of the University is professor S.S Naboichenko. He was rector of the Ustu-Upi.

The university has contract with scientific town “scolkovo”. Five scientific education centers are a part of University: @Nano-technologies and nonmaterial’s”.

As to the international contacts by its 80^th anniversary our University had trained specialist from countries of Europe, Asia, Africa. And some students and post-graduates of our University. Study of the Universities in the United States of America and Germany.

In spite of its age the University is still young because of the youth it is growing developing and educating future intellectuals of Russia

University life

The academic year is devided into 2 terms. They usually last from September to February, from February to July with two holidays. So students take their exams term a year, that is at the end of each terms.
