Profile

Perm Territorial Generating company – 9 (PTGC) owns Perm Combined Heat and Power Plant – 6 (CHPP-6) and not long ago it started its reconstruction process with the help of the German Company Siemens. Siemens is a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, operating in the industry, energy and healthcare sectors. The company has around 405,000 employees (in continuing operations) working to develop and manufacture products, design and install complex systems and projects, and tailor a wide range of solutions for individual requirements.[Soft Break]For over 160 years, Siemens has stood for technical achievements, innovation, quality, reliability and internationality.

Many projects are implemented by Siemens for the energy sector with the involvement of foreign advisors’ from all over the world.

In Perm Siemens practically delivered all of the equipment for a totally new combined cycle plant. This is a key project in the development of the Perm Region's energy system. In fact, a new power plant has been built on the premises of CHPP-6 within the framework of this project: the combined cycle plant installed in the CHPP's new building includes two gas turbines of the latest modification, two advanced heat recovery steam generators and a steam turbine. Following its commissioning, the generating unit's capacity will reach 124 MW, or in other words, twice as much as the plant's current capacity.

The textbook contains some authentic material in circulation at that period of time with necessary changes regarding confidential information. Interpreting the excerpts students are supposed to play the role of translators.
