Abstract. The origins of project-oriented management in Russia are considered. It is shown that it originated in the depths of the Russian army that was formed. With the economic development of the country, quite complex tasks began to arise that could not be solved within the framework of traditional management approaches. The most typical example of the application of elements of control technology can be seen in the implementation of the megaproject for the revival of the Russian aviation industry. It is shown that it was in the depths of the reviving aviation industry that the direct beginnings of project management emerged.

But besides this, the main idea of the future development of the aviation industry was formulated: metal air-
