WRITING A JOB APPLICATION LETTER
Work with a partner. Decide whether you agree or disagree with these statements:
References which candidates supply with their applications could be false so you shouldn’t always believe them.
It is not necessary for applicants to put their date of birth on their application.
You should enclose copies of certificates and exam results with a job application.
Read the application letter. Order the headings.

Dear Mrs Crufts,
I`m writing to apply for the job of animal carer which I saw advertised in the Evening Standard on Friday 27th.
I am 20 years old and come from near Florence in Italy. I have taken a year off my studies to improve my English. I am looking for a part-time job which doesn’t involve working afternoons, as I attend English classes from 1.30 to 5.00 p.m.
I have a lot of experience of looking after all kinds of animals, not only because I was brought up on a farm, but also because I am training to be a vet, so I am well-qualified to attend to the animals` health and well-being. I am very fit (I`m a keen runner and swimmer) and I am used to getting up early. My language skills (I speak Italian and French) may be useful if you deal with foreign clients.
I enclose my CV and references for your information. If you still have vacancies for this job I would be interested in receiving further information regarding hours and rates of pay.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
Mathilde Rossi (Miss)
