WARM-UP

1. Game "True or False"

Hold a flashcard facing you and tell pupils you are going to say a true or a false sentence.

Say a true or false sentence about the card in your hand, e.g. Hold a picture of a cake and say, “I am going to a party”.

If pupils think you are telling the truth, they call out “True!” If they don’t, they call out “False!” Alternatively, pupils can do one of two agreed actions.

Reveal the flashcard in your hand then ask a pupil to choose a flashcard without the other pupils seeing it.

Ask the pupil to say a true or false sentence about the flashcard that he / she has got.

Continue until all of the words have been practised.

PRESENTATION

2. Listen, read and say the chant (p. 93, ex. 1).

Tell pupils to look at the picture. Ask what they see. Pupils give the answer. Ask: “Have you seen this cartoon? What are the names of the heroes?” Tell pupils that they are going to read a chant.

Read the words of the chant, pausing after each line.

Pupils repeat the lines chorally and individually.

Read the chant chorally faster and faster.

Ask pupils “Do you like watching cartoons?”

PRACTICE

3. Listen and repeat (p. 93, ex. 2).

Ask pupils to look at the pictures and read the sentences describing them. Pay pupils’ attention to the actions which these sentences demonstrate. You can explain this grammar in the native language. Pay attention to the words ‘every day’ and ‘already’.

Pay attention to irregular verbs in the box. Read them and translate.

You can explain spelling.

4. Read and complete the sentences. Use Ex.2 as an example (p. 94, ex. 3).

Read an example. Write it on the board. Read the irregular verbs again. Pay pupils’ attention to the actions which these sentences demonstrate. You can explain this grammar in the native language.

Pupils go to the board and write the sentences.

Monitor the activity and help where necessary.

5. a) Read the sentences (p. 94, ex. 4).

Read the sentences. Ask pupils to read the sentences in silence after you. You translate difficult sentences into the native language.

Pronounce the words clearly.

Do choral and individual repetition of every sentence. Follow the same procedure three or four times.

Then pupils read the sentences themselves in a chain. Do choral and individual repetition if it is necessary again.

b) Work in pairs. Say what you have done today. Use the Present Perfect tense and the phrases from the box.

Read the words from the box.

Write the sentences on the board. Ask pupils to match the parts of the sentences and read them.

	have done my homework
	have played with my friends
I	have made a cake	today. What about you?
	have sung a song
	have had breakfast
	have told a story

Do choral and individual repetition of every sentence. Follow the same procedure three or four times.

READING AND WRITING

6. Answer the questions and write your answers (p. 95, ex. 5).

Read the questions.

Ask pupils to read the questions in silence after you. You translate difficult questions into the native language.

Pronounce the words clearly.

Do choral and individual repetition of every question.

Follow the same procedure three or four times.

Then pupils read the questions themselves in a chain. Do choral and individual repetition if it is necessary again.

If it is necessary, write the answers for the questions and ask pupils to match them with the questions.

ENDING THE LESSON

7. Game “Bingo"

Play two or three rounds of the game using the numbers or days of the week or the months of a year.

Home work

Read (p. 94, ex. 4).
