Radiator

Removal

1. Removetherider'sseat.

2. Disconnectthebattery,negative(black)leadfirst.

3. Drainthecoolant asdescribedonpage12.6.

4. Disconnectthetophoseandbypasshosefromthethermostathousingandheadrespectively.

5. Disconnectthewaterpump hosesattheradiator.

10.Optionally,topreventthepossibilityofdamage,removetheradiatorfrontgrille.

13. Disconnectthecoolingfan.

14. Easetheradiatortowardstherighthandsideofthemotorcycletodislodgeitfromitslowermountingstud.

Inspection

1. Checktheradiatorforstonedamage.

2. Checktheradiatorcore,fordamagetofinsorobstructionstoairflow.

3. Repairanydamageandclearallobstructions.

4. Check thatthefanspinsfreelyandwithouttightspots.

5. Checkthefanbladesforsignsofheatdistortion.

6. Checkthefancowlflapsforunobstructedoperationandforsplitsanddeformationoftheflaps.

Installation

1. Aligntheradiatortothelowermountingstud,reconnectthecoolingfan beforefittingtheupperandlowermountingbolts.

2. Tightenthemountingboltsto9Nm.

3. Reconnectthetopandbypasshoses tothethermostathousingandheadrespectively.Tightenthehoseclips.

4. Reconnectthebottomhosetotheradiator.Tightenthehoseclip.

5. Inthefollowingorder,refitthe:

   • Frontradiatorgrilleifremoved(fixingtorque

7Nm).

• Upperradiatorcover(fixingtorque3Nm).

• Sideradiatorgrilles(side fixingtorque7Nm,

upperfixingtorque3Nm).

• Lowerradiatorcover(fixingtorque3Nm).

Reconnectthebattery,positive(red) leadfirst.

Refittherider'sseat.
