Removal

7.Removethetwoscrewssecuringtheidlespeedcontrolsteppermotortoitsbracket,thenremovethesteppermotor.

2. Disconnectthebattery,negative{black)leadfirst.

4. Removethenut,metalwasherandplasticwasherattachingtheidlecontrolstepperarmtotheidlespeedcontrollever.

5. Usingthelinkage,ratherthanthebutterflyplates,fullyopentheprimarythrottlebyhand.

6. Turntheidlespeedcontrolleverawayfromthestepperarmandremovetheplasticcollarandspring.

1. Turntheidlespeedcontrolleveruntilit thesteppermotorcanbefittedwithoutobstructionofanykind.

2. Locatethesteppermotortoitsbracketandtighten thefixingsto3.5Nm.

3. Locatethespringandplasticcollar.

4. Fittheplasticwasherthroughtheleverthenfitthemetalwasherandnut.

5. Refitthethrottlebodiesasdescribedearlierinthissection, butdonotfittheintakecover.

6. Temporarilyreconnectthebattery,positive(red)leadfirst.

7. TurntheignitiontotheONposition.

8. Connecttheservicediagnostictoolandscrollthroughto,andselectthe'ADJUSTTUNE'option.

4. Atthenextscreen,alignthecursorwithISC*STEPPERRENEW(seebelow)thenpressthevalidationkeywhichismarked'*'.

0.5mmcanbemeasuredbetweentheidlespeedcontrolcamandthethrottleroller(seethediagrambelow).

14. Gentlyturntheprimarythrottlepositionsensoruntilthevoltagereadingonthetoolshows0.6volts+/-0.02volts.MAKEA NOTEOFTHEEXACTVOLTAGEREADING.

15. Tightenthesensorretainingscrewto3.5 Nmandrecheckthevoltagereadingshownonthetool.Repeattheadjustmentifthereadingisoutsidethespecifiedrange,NOTINGTHEFINALVOLTAGEREADINGIFADJUSTMENTISMADE.

16. Pressthevalidationkeymarked,.,toprogresstothenextadjustment.

17. Onpressingthevalidationkey,thediagnostictoolwillsendacommandthatdrivestheprimarythrottletothefullyopenposition.Thetoolwillalsodisplaythevoltagereadingcomingfromthethrottlepositionsensor.

18.Withthestepperfullyopened,checkthevoltageshownonthetoolandadjustthenutonthetopofthestepperarmuntilthetoolshowsavoltageequivalenttoX+0.12(+/-0.05V)whereX=thevoltagemeasuredinstep12(or15ifre­adjusted).

Forexample,ifthevoltagemeasuredwas0.6volts,thenthecorrectsettingwouldbe0.715-0.725volts.
