Chargingcurrentshouldbecontrolledto10%ofthenominal capacity(i.e.fora1OAHbatterychargingcurrentI=0.1x10=1A).
Disconnectthechargerandallowthebatterytostandfor1hourbeforefittingtothemotorcycle.
Fitthebatterytothemotorcycle,positive(Red)leadfirst.
Charging-BatteryAlreadyinService
Whenre-chargingabatteryinservice,thefollowingprecautions mustbetakentoavoiddamagetothebattery.
1.Thechargingratemustnotexceed1.2Aexceptforaboostchargewhereamaximumcharge rateof 5Amps.(fornolongerthan1hour)isallowed.

Thefuseboxislocatedbeneaththerider'sseat.
Toallowaccesstothefusebox,therider'sseatmustberemovedasdescribedonpage17.9.
BatteryMaintenance
Cleanthebatteryusingaclean,dry,cloth.Besurethatthecableconnectionsareclean.

FuseIdentification
Ablownfuseisindicatedwhenallofthesystemsprotectedbythatfusebecomeinoperative.Whencheckingforablownfuse,usethetablebelowtoestablishwhichfusehasblown.
