AllTriumphmotorcyclesarecarefullyandextensivelytestedinarangeofridingconditionstoensurethatthemosteffective tyrecombinationsareapprovedforuseoneachmodel.Itis essentialthatapprovedtyrecombinationsareusedwhenpurchasing replacementtyresastheuseofnonapprovedtyresorapprovedtyresinnonapprovedcombinationsmayleadtomotorcycleinstability.Alwaysrefertotheowner'shandbookdatasectionfordetailsofapprovedtyresandtyrecombinations.

MinimumRecommendedTreadDepth

Inaccordancewiththe scheduledmaintenancechart,measurethedepthofthetreadwithadepthgauge,andreplaceanytyrethathaswornto,orbeyondtheminimumlegallyallowabletreaddepth.

Removal

1. Raiseandsupportthefrontof themotorcycle.

2. Detachbothbrakecallipers.

Note:

• Itisnotnecessarytodisconnectthebrakehoses.

3. Slackenbothpinchboltsatthelowerendofthelefthandfork.

4. Releaseandremovethewheelspindlewhichisthreadedintotherighthandfork.

5. Removethewheel,recoveringthespacerfromtherighthandside.

6. Placethewheelonwoodenblockstopreventdamagetothebrakediscs.

Installation

1.Lightlysmearthespacerwithgreaseandlocateintherighthandsideofthehub.

2. Positionthewheelbetweentheforks.

3. Raisethewheeluntilitisinalignmentwiththespindleholesinbothforks.Takecaretonotdislodgethespacer.

4. Refitthewheelspindlefromthelefthandsideandtighten to65Nm.

5. Checkthatthebrakedisciscentrallylocatedtothecaliperonthelefthandside.Ifnot,applygentlepressuretotheforktoensurethedisciscentredwiththecaliper.

6. Maintainingtheaboveposition,tightentheforkpinchboltsto22Nm.

7. Thoroughlycleananddegreasethebrakediscs.

8. Fitthebrakecalipers,tighteningthemountingboltsto40Nm.

9. Checktheoperationofthefrontbrake.Rectifyasnecessary.

7. Thoroughlycleanallcomponentsandinspectforwearordamage.

RearWheel

Removal

1. Raiseandsupporttherearofthemotorcycle.

2. Releasethewheelspindlenutandwithdrawthespindletoapointwhereitclearsthecalipercarrier.

3. Releasethetorquereactionboltfromthecalipercarrier.

4. Asanassembly,manoeuvrethecaliperandcarrieruntilitisclearofthebrakediscandwheel,collectingthespaceronceitisfreedfromthecallipercarrier.

   • Restthecalliperassemblyonasupportsuchthatitisnotallowedtohangonthebrakehose.

5. Withdrawthe wheelspindlecompletely.

6. Gentlypullthe wheeltowardstherighthandsideofthemotorcycletoreleaseitfromthebevelbox.
