BrakeFluidLevelInspection

Inaccordancewiththescheduledmaintenancechart,inspectthebrakefluidlevelinthe frontandrearmastercylinderreservoirs.

1.Ensurethatthebrakefluidlevelinthefrontandrearbrakefluidreservoirsisbetweentheupperandlowerlevellines(reservoirheldhorizontal).

ChangingBrakeFluid

Brake fluidmustbechangedeverytwocalendaryears,irrespectiveofthemileagethemotorcyclehascoveredinthattime.

BrakePads

Frontandrearbrakepadwearisautomaticallycompensatedforandhasnoeffectonbrakeleverorpedalaction.

BrakeWearInspection

Inaccordancewith thescheduledmaintenancechart,inspectthebrakepadsforwear.Theminimumthicknessofliningmaterialforanyfrontorrearbrakepadis1.5mm.Ifanypadhasworntothebottomofthegrooveinthepadcentre,replaceallthebrakepadsonthatwheel.

BleedingtheFrontBrakes,RenewingBrakeFluid

4. Placetheotherendofthetube inasuitablereceptaclecontainingnewbrakefluid.

5. Turnthehandlebarstobringthefluidreservoirtoalevelposition.

6. Removethescrewsfromthereservoircover.

1.Notetheoriginalsettingofthebrakeleveradjusterinorderthatitcanbereturnedtothesamepositionwhenthebleedingoperationiscomplete.SetthebrakeleveradjustertopositionNo.1.

2. Removethecapfromthebleednippleontherighthandcaliper.

3. Attachatransparenttubetothebleednipple.

7. Carefullyremove thereservoircovertakingcarenottospillanyfluid.

8. Checktheconditionofthesealingdiaphragmforthereservoir.Replaceifnecessary.
