Love Story

Read the first part of this news report, then decide in what order the following paragraphs originally appeared:

a. When Paul Burdeli met the girl of his dreams, he could never have guessed just what he was letting himself in for.

Things normally went according to plan for the 28-year-old American City executive who had just about everything he wanted - good looks, money, fast car, luxury flat in Chelsea.

So when he proposed marriage to beautiful blonde Selina Rigden-Hodge and she accepted, he could not have been happier.

b. Undeterred, however, he jumped bail and drove to the school in Bringhton where he collected his sweetheart and the pair jetted off to Mexico and married two days later.

c. Trouble

Set on a career, they banned any prospect of marriage outright. Paul therefore decided to smuggle Selina out of the country to marry in Mexico.

d. Career

By now Mr and Mrs Burdeli were in hiding in New York. But eventually Paul had to come back to Britain to his career - and the less attractive prospect of a seven-day jail sentence.

e. That, however, was until he found out that his beloved was a mere 17 and still studying for her A-levels at Brinain's top girls' school, Roedean: which might perhaps have been less of a problem had Selina's parents and teachers not had other, more independent, plans for her.

f. But trouble struck on the day of the elopement. Just 100 yards from his flat in Cadogan Street police arrested Paul for driving while disqualified.

g. Selina's furious parents - they live in Kent, and her father is a company director-hired detectives to track her down and made her a war if court in a desperate attempt to bring her home.
