For a postgraduate student

I am Ivanova Inna. Let me tell you some words about my students’ years first.

I studied at Moscow Power Engineering Institute. This institute, now University gives the students the highest standard of academic education and professional training. The students have got great possibilities for implementation and carrying out their research.

After completing a course of five years, the university graduate gets the Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, technology or production management and economics. Later he can continue the studies and research to get Master’s Degree. Furthermore, a student can take up a postgraduate course with defending a thesis in order to gain the Candidate of Sciences Degree and Doctor’s Degree to follow.

I was drawn into research during my students year when I was a 3+-d year student. I owe it to my teacher .................. While at the Institute I carried out scientific research and presented papers to student’s conferences.

After graduating from the Institute in .................. I decided to take a postgraduate course. Now I work under the supervision of Belov P.B. The supervisor’s role comes to giving practical recommendation, making suggestions and modifying the plan of research.

The postgraduate course lasts 3 years.

I’m at my first stage of my research. At this stage I have to pass English and Philosophy exams, to study literature on the subject I work on, to sum up data on my subject, to came to certain conclusions. I meet my supervisor a weak.

For preparing for the exam on English I have read a lot of literature on my speciality in English. I found it in journals or in Internet. I think that knowledge of foreign languages is absolutely necessary just to keep pace with today’s level of scientific development.

During the years of my postgraduate course, I think, I’ll have contacts with various enterpises and research center working in the similar (related) fields. A also hope to have some publications and presents my findings to conferences.

By the way, I have already taken part in some conferences and made reports there. It was in .................. I think my reports were a success.
