  1. Life swap

  1. You will get a card with the name of a profession.

  2. Take a minute to think what the life of a representative of this profession is like. (e.g. The life of a photographer is normally very busy, they create images of people's memories and makes good money.)

  3. Also find several negative points in the life of these people. (e.g. Expensive and heavy equipment you have to carry around; holiday and weekend hours away from your children; stress etc.)

  4. Walk round the room, talk to the other students and advertise your profession.

  5. Listen to the others and choose ONE person you would like to swap your life with for a while.

  6. Explain to the class what challenges your job has and why you have decided to swap your life with that person.

  1. Two Pluses and a Minus

Get divided into two teams. One team names a job from the list. The other team is to name two advantages and one disadvantage of this job. If they manage to do it, the teams exchange their roles.

e.g. Team 1: Street cleaner.

Team 2: + It's a healthy job, because you work in the open air and exercise.

+ You start and finish early, so you are free most of the day.

– It's not much fun when it is cold and slippery.
