  1. Market analysis summary

  1. The population base for Multan District is 4000,000.  Approximately 20% of the district's population can be characterized as low-income.  This represents 800,000 residents that are potentially in need of services from Young League Pakistan.

  2. This group can be broken down into four segments:

  1. Seniors 25 % (200,000);

  2. Children 35 % (280,000);

  3. Adults Male 18 % (144,000);

  4. Adults Female 22 % (176,000).

  1. Needy Women represent 22% of the District residents in need of Young League Pakistan services. The program has identified women and their families as it primary target customers.  It is projected that the number of low-income girls will increase in Multan District by 20% over the next four years.  By 2017, girls will represent 22% of Young League Pakistan's client base.  With effective intervention, the debilitation effects of illiteracy can be eliminated.  Consequently, the families will be better able to be successfully providing for its children.

  1. Service Geographic’s

Young League Pakistan serves the Multan District area with a total population in excess of 4000,000 people. Over 50% of the District's population lives in Multan.  The remaining bulk of District's population resides in villages.

  1. Service Demographics

It is estimated that 20% of the District's residents are low-income. Of the District's 400,000 low income residents, 25% are seniors, 35% are children, 18 % are male adults and 22% are young women.  Family groupings represent over 20% of low income residents in Multan District. Over 90% of these families have at least one family member working full-time.  This is why children, girls and their families are the focus of the program.

  1. Service Psychographics One of the most typical profiles of families interested in this type of program can be described by the following:

  • At least one parent/guardian works full-time.

  • The average family size is five, with three or four women.

  • The families are most receptive to receiving education assistance through higher education programs that are working with the families in other concerns.

  1. Service Behaviors

Young League Pakistan has established that the most effective method to provide education is through the network of existing schools, social service programs and agencies serving the target population groups.  In addition, these programs have an excellent volunteer base that can be mobilized to provide education.
