5. Brief course description

The purpose of the course “Ecology and sustainable development”_is to study the new ecological terminology and formation of representations about ecological approaches to the decision of nature protection problem.

At present the ecology is one of predominating interdisciplinary synthetic sciences. The modern ecology has a great value for understanding of mutual relationships of mankind with an environment. Experts with higher education bear the responsibility for the problem decision of harmonious mutual relationships of society and the nature.

Course objectives are:

Tasks of the course studying are

Students must know:

  • the basic English terminology concerning ecological natural systems.

  • be able to discuss in English about processes proceeding in atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere.

By the end of the course students must:

● ecologically competently to solve concrete questions of nature management,

to be able to estimate ecologically each professional action by various forms of the control including express train-interrogation, conversations, individual work with distributing materials, discussions, etc in English.
