3) Post-hepatic (cholestatic) jaundice

It occurs when there is an obstacle to the passage of bile in the bile ducts. Difficulty in excretion and regurgitation of bile. Causes: stone, clogging the common bile duct or pancreatic tumor. With stagnation of bile in the liver, foci of necrosis occur with their subsequent replacement by st and the development of cirrhosis (secondary biliary cirrhosis). Leads to cholemia.
