The Institute of Pedagogics, Psychology and Arts
The Institute of Pedagogics, Psychology and Arts was opened in 1956. Since then it has been constantly growing and expanding. In 1960 only 48 young specialists graduated from the department, now every year about 100 full-time students and 150 correspondence students get higher education diplomas.
Now more than 1000 full-time and correspondence students study at the Institute.
There are two chairs at the Institute. There are 3 Doctors of Science, 15 Candidates of Science, Associate Professors, 2 Honoured Teachers of Ukraine among the 44 lecturers, who work at the Chairs.
The scientific work of the teachers of the Institute has been very successful. The students of the Institute are actively involved in scientific and research work.
The Institute has its own amateur choir, violin players’ group, dancing group, which have great achievements.
The Institute maintains scientific contacts with leading centres of pedagogical education: Pedagogic Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, the Ukrainian Drahomanov Pedagogical University and Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko.
The Institute of Physical Culture and Sports
The Institute of Physical Culture and Sports was founded in 1956 on the basis of the interdepartmental chair of physical education of Vinnytsia State Pedagogical Institute and Novhorod-Siversk Teachers’ Training College which was transferred to Vinnytsia.
The first 106 young specialists graduated from the Institute in 1959. On the whole, more than 6000 teachers of physical culture, now working in different regions of Ukraine, were trained at the Institute during the years of its existence.
Teacher training is conducted in the best sport complexes of the city, in the specialized sport halls and classrooms of the Pedagogical University.
The chairs hold theoretical and scientific seminars aimed at introducing the latest scientific and cultural achievements, and technical innovations into teaching as well as solving the problems that modern secondary comprehensive and vocational schools face. The Institute hosted several international and all-Ukrainian conferences.
The Institute encourages students to improve their sport achievements. A lot of honoured Masters of Sport and Masters of Sport of International Grade have been trained during 40 years.
The combined teams of the Institute succeed in numerous competitions in different kinds of sport.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences
The Faculty of Natural Sciences was founded in 1974, and at first it gave training in two specialties – Geography and Biology. In 1995 Chemistry was introduced as one more specialty. The teaching process at the Institute is conducted by four chairs that have efficient highly qualified lecturers. The Department trains 597 full-time students and 400 correspondence students.
Specialized studies, students’ scientific laboratories, a metrological centre provide all necessary facilities for tuition and research work of the students.
The lecturers of the faculty have published a number of manuals, training instructions, monographs that can be used by students of higher educational institutions.
Students of the faculty are involved in research work which results in presentations of reports at scientific conferences, participation in all Ukrainian Olympiads and competitions, preparation of diploma projects.
The Graduates of the faculty work in educational and research institutions, in reserves, nature protecting and ecological organizations in Ukraine and abroad.
The faculty has close creative links with advanced educational and scientific institutions of other countries.
