Hello! My name is Paul Savchenko. I’m from Ukraine. I’m Ukrainian. I’m from Vinnytsia. It is a very beautiful and old city. Vinnytsia is very dear to me. It’s my native city.

I’m a student of Durham University in the north of England. My friends are students of this University, too. My English is rather good now. My friends and I are fond of pop music and sports. I’m happy here. The only trouble is my parents are far away and I miss them greatly.

We’re four in the family: my father, my mother, my sister and I.

My father’s name is Bohdan Petrovych. He’s fifty-seven. He’s a good-looking man, rather thin, with dark brown hair and blue eyes. Father is a very intelligent, sociable man and an experienced lawyer.

My mother is a very intelligent woman, too. She’s a school teacher. She’s a teacher of English. She’s fond of children. Her name is Halyna Serhiyivna. Mother is fifty-two, but she’s still a very attractive woman. She’s very slim. Her hair is short, thick and fair. Her eyes are large, hazel and very kind. I’m fond of my mother.

My sister Olha is a young woman. She’s twenty-nine. She’s a children’s doctor. Olha is married. Her husband’s name is Sasha. Sasha is thirty-three. He’s a journalist. He’s a very clever and amiable young man and my parents are fond of their son-in-law. Sasha and his mother-in-law are very good friends. They are, really!

Olha and Sasha have got three lovely kids, two girls and a boy. They’re my nieces and nephew and I’m their uncle. The girls’ names are Lina and Ann. They’re twins. My nieces are very quick, merry and very much alike. They’re fond of candies, oranges, nuts and apples. They’re only five.

My nephew’s name is Roman, Roma for short. Roma is eleven. He’s a schoolboy: and he’s a very diligent pupil. Roma is rather a shy and reserved boy. Actually, he hasn’t got many friends. He’s fond of books and computer games.

My father has got a sister. Her name is Vira Petrivna. Aunt Vira is fifty. She’s a hospital nurse. She’s divorced from her husband and she’s got a son. His name is Borys. He’s eighteen and he’s a student. Borys is very lazy and aunt Vira has got а lot of problems with my cousin. Borys and I are not friends. Actually, in his opinion, I’m too haughty.

Olha, Borys and I have got grandparents. They’ve got a large house in a small Ukrainian village. Its name is Bohdanivka. Bohdanivka is a very beautiful and quiet village. The people in this village, like all the Ukrainians, are very amiable, good-natured and kind.

My grandfather is eighty-four and my grandmother is eighty. They’re pensioners. They’re not healthy people, but they’re still fond of their garden, their apple trees, their animals, their children, their grandsons and granddaughter.

I’m fond of my relatives and I miss them all greatly.
