Topic 15. Eating Rules

Important Rules When Eating:

- Eat less than you are use to, but chew food longer than you are use to.

- Never overfill your stomach; remember that it takes us 20 minutes to feel full.

- Chew food well (at least 20 times each mouthful);

- Make at least 1 hour pause between fruit and the next meal;

- Use filtered water for drinking (without CO2) !

- Never eat desserts with rest of food ! Make minimum 2 hours break between food and desserts!

- Eat more often but less mixed food

- Eat salads with cold pressed oils

- Avoid eating 1-2 hours before sleeping

- Eat fish instead of meat

- Eat foods from the different food groups (grains, fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy proteins, and healthy fats)

- Avoid inorganic foods (antibiotics, hormones, pesticides) (antibiotics can harm the intestinal flora! Hormones will help your tumor grow. Pesticides will poison your healthy cells and organs.)

- Eat raw foods.

- Try grilling, microwaving, baking, and boiling as healthy ways to cook foods instead of frying.

- Try fresh or dried herbs (basil, oregano, parsley) and spices (lemon pepper, garlic powder) to flavor your food instead of adding less healthy toppings such as butter, margarine or gravy.

- Do not drink soft drinks that contain much sugar. Sugary drinks are a big source of empty energy. This means that they contain a lot of energy (in the form of calories) that your body may not need and they don't have vitamins, minerals, proteins, or even fiber.

- Lots of sugar is also found in desserts such as cakes, cookies, and candies. So try to eat less of that stuff.

- Eat less salt. Eating too much salt can raise your blood pressure.

- Eat the right number of calories for how active you are, so that you balance the energy you consume with the energy you use. If you eat or drink too much, you’ll put on weight. If you eat too little you’ll lose weight. The average man needs around 2,500 calories a day. The average woman needs 2,000 calories.

Healthy eating is a great way to:

  • Have energy all day long

  • Get the vitamins and minerals your body needs

  • Stay strong for sports or other activities

  • Reach your maximum height (if you are still growing)

  • Maintain a healthy weight
