Приклади вправ для навчання написання опису

1. Read the text about Carnforth we’ve improved together. Pay special attention to its structure. Find the introduction, the main body and the conclusion in it.

2. To see how well you understand the structure of a description answer some questions.

1) How many parts are there in a description?

2) Can you find and read aloud the introduction?

3) Can you find and read aloud the conclusion? (The part of the text between the introduction and the conclusion is the main body.)

4) How many paragraphs are there in the main body of the text?

3. Think of a small town in Ukraine you know very well. Write an introduction to its description and the conclusion.

4. You’d like to write about your favourite town in a letter to your British pen-friend. Think of the content of each paragraph in the main body. Use the description of Carnforth as an example. In case of any difficulty ask the teacher for help.

5. Write the description of the town. Remember that a description contains an introduction, a main body and a conclusion. Hand in your description to the teacher for correction.

Вправи для розвитку вмінь написання текстів академічних жанрів письма

Написання текстів окремих академічних жанрів письма навчають у старшій школі. Навчання створення есе починається з ознайомлення учнів з його зразком, жанрово-композиційними особливостями.

Після ознайомлення учнів зі структурними частинами, мовними й мовленнєвими засобами тексту есе можна запропонувати завдання на об’єднання у ПФЄ окремі речення, їх приєднання за допомогою відповідних ЗМЗ.

Доречними будуть вправи на редагування, розширення написаного або завершення початого есе, написання вступної або/та заключної частини есе.

Якщо учні оволодівають жанром статті до газети/журналу, на рецептивно-репродуктивному етапі окрема увага приділяється навчанню написання лаконічного і привабливого заголовка статті:

1. A headline is a short, clear summary of the information presented in a newspaper article. To write headlines correctly: – use the Preset Simple Tense (e.g. Famine strikes Africa), – omit the verb “be” in the Passive Voice to describe a past event {Lost boy found), – write “to be + Past Participle” using the Passive Voice to describe a future event (e.g. Hospital to be closed),– write the full infinitive (to be) using the Active Voice to describe a future event (e.g. Presidents to meet), – omit articles (e.g. Scandal threatens government), – put nouns one after the other (e.g. London factory explosion injures 27), – avoid prepositions like under, over, across, through (e.g. Undefined virus spreads), – use abbreviations like US, UN, NATO (e.g. UFO sighted). Using the rules given above, rewrite the following sentences into headlines (учням подаються фрази для їхнього перетворення у заголовки можливих статей).

2. Suggest appropriate headlines for these articles (пропонуються 2-3 статті для ознайомлення з їхнім змістом і створення заголовків до них).
