Parts of the plane
The Airbus 320 is a family of medium range commercial passenger airliners. A-320 pioneered the use of digital fly-by-wire control systems. There are 160 passenger seats in A-320.
Aircraft may be divided into two types: monoplanes and biplanes.
The main parts of the plane are: fuselage, power plant, wings, tail unit and landing gear.
The fuselage is the body of the airplane. It houses crew, passengers, controls, equipment and cargo. The fuselage is divided into some cabins. A nose cabin is a pilot’s cabin or a flight deck. Passenger’s compartment accommodates passengers. The rear part of the fuselage is called a baggage compartment. It is designed for cargo.
There are many types of engines in use: jet engines, turbofan engines.
The wing provides lift for flying. The monoplane has a port wing and starboard wing.
The tail unit provides a necessary stability in flight.
The landing gear is used during manoeuvring of the airplane on the ground. The landing gear is retracted in flight into the wing or the fuselage structure.

General Layout
Many people like travelling. The most convenient means of travelling is a plane. Passengers may travel first class, business class and economy class. That’s why the plane is divided into two or three passenger cabins, which are called the first class cabin, the business class cabin and the economy class cabin.
The seats can be arranged two-by-two or three-by-three depending on the class flight. The seats are numbered in rows from the nose of the cabin to the tail and lettered from the right to the left as you look back from the flight deck.
Above the cabin door there are two signs: the Fasten Seat Belt sign and the No Smoking sign. The No Smoking sign is always switched on as all Ural Airlines Flights are Non-Smoking. The Fasten Seat Belt sign is switched on while taxiing, taking off, ascending, descending and landing.
The doors in the passenger cabin are fitted with curtains and a carpet covers the cabin floor.
The overhead stowage bins which are for light items and coats extend along the cabin walls. Above each group of seats there is a passenger service unit consisting of an air vent (nozzle), an individual light and a cabin attendant call button.
The cabin (side) window has a rigid blind (shade) which serves as a light filter in sunny weather.
The passenger cabins are provided with lighting system: general, dim, emergency and individual lighting.
The passenger chair is very comfortable and has all necessary comfort features including a reclining seatback, a push button to fix the seatback in a comfortable position, folding armrests, a tray-table, a seat pocket for small items, a disposable headrest cover, a foot-step for a Business Class flight passenger.
Baby cots are carried on board each aircraft. They are attached to the bulkhead in the cabin. Each baby cot is supplied with a bedding and a baby kit.
