Oil Consumption
Petroleum
products
are
consumed
in
many
areas.
They
are
easily
recognised
in
the
gasoline
used
to
fuel
cars
and
the
heating
oil
used
to
warm
homes.
Less
obvious
are
the
uses
of
petroleum-based
components
of
plastics,
medicines,
food
items,
and
a
host
of
other
products.
Oil
consumption
occurs
in
the

■
By
the
energy
industries
in
the
energy
sector.
■
In
the
transportation
and
distribution
of
oil
(although
limited).
