Being a Businessman

Not everyone is ready to be a businessman. It takes a special talent. Some have it and some don’t. Before investing time, energy, money and even a piece of your heart, it is important to do some serious self-analysis. Answer such questions as: Am I prepared to work hard and make sacrifices? Am I self-disciplined? Do I have management ability? Am I experienced enough in this field? Are my goals realistic and attainable?

Studies have shown that successful managers share certain characteristics including an overpowering need to achieve. Managers tend to be more creative and innovative than the average person. They are self-confident and not easily defeated. They are risk-takers. They welcome responsibility and more willing and able to make decisions. They are also able to learn from their mistakes. Successful managers, I am sure, usually get along well with people. They have well developed oral and written communication skills. Moreover, they are patient and able to wait out. They are often called “workaholics”. They will continue to work despite headaches or other “aches” which might keep others away from the job. They desire independence.

Everyday Fashion

Most people like to think they are individualists and simply wear whatever they like. Few people will admit they are slaves to fashion. However, we are not just talking of the expensive haute couture of the Paris and Milan fashion houses. We are talking of fashions and trends in everyday clothes. We say that we wear jeans and sweaters, because they are cheap and practical. Of course, the big chain stores dictate what we wear, but they always offer a choice.

Every fashion goes through three stages. At first it is different; it may be new and exciting, shocking or surprising. Then it becomes popular, and the original idea is imitated. Finally it becomes boring and out of date as a new fashion starts.

Being fashionable says something about you. It means that you are up to date in other ways.
